a day lost

Do you ever have the feeling that if you get 1 day off each week you should do something you really enjoy & cherish every moment of it? I usually feel that way, but today I suppose I was generous. I slept from around 1 A.m. to 6 a.m., then spent some time with my dad. I had a baby blessing to go to, so I drove about 125 miles without eating first, and little sleep the night before. Which brings to mind, why is it you never feel tired until you're in the middle of something where you can't sleep. Anyhow, I went to the baby blessing, and sat sandwiched between an incredibly rude couple, and a couple oblivious to their child's tantrum. Which I've never understood, if your child is acting out, they want attention, but giving them attention will teach them to act out to get the attention. So it's understandable to ignore them, but when your in a public setting & your child is throwing his toys & sippy cup at the people sitting next to you, it's about time to intervene. Afterward, I was able to talk to my fiance' for a while, and knowing you sacrificed for a friend to see his baby blessed, and being able to talk to those you love makes any day a good day.

July and holidays

Today is the fourth of july, and that means a lot of different things to different people. I remember the fourth of july as a means to tell when summer was about half over, so I knew I had to savor the last bit of it before school. Since my days of summer vacations I've joined the military though. I feel as though I'm supposed to feel self righteous..or vengeful on today. Really it just serves as a reminder to why I really don't like holidays. I find that I've always enjoyed the time spent with my family having fun on the 4th, rather than the times that I was learning about the importance of it. I find I generally dislike holidays though. There's no deep meaning to why I do, I think it's just that people tend to get lazy and indignant on holidays. I had to work today, 4 hours, it wasn't terrible, or for that matter different from any other day. Although I got paid $12 an hours instead of $8 for working on a holiday. But all my co workers were complaining how it was against their american rights to work on a holiday. I believe there's a fine line between celebrating one's freedom, and being lazy

Web 2.0 – What does it really mean?

the video

Web 2.0 is an idea. An idea that stems from the knowledge of what the 'web' is. Web meaning the internet, the world wide web, connecting each person in the world together. 2.0 refers to a new version, which is partially true in this sense. The web has changed since it's creation, and it's now defined by the users rather than ISPs. It's user driven, about sharing everything possible, and learning as much as you can.
